Sly Stallone is nursing an injured hand after damaging his thumb practising realistic fight scenes for his new action film The Expendables.

Stallone has recruited an all-star cast of Hollywood hardmen – including Jet Li, Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham – to star in the upcoming project, about a group of mercenaries who set out to overthrow a dictator. Stallone, who will also direct the movie, insists the injury will not delay filming.
