Veteran actor Richard Crenna, whose many roles included John Rambo’s mentor ‘Colonel Trautman’ in the Rambo series, has sadly died at the age of 76.

Crenna died Jan. 17, 2003 of pancreatic cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. “He was one of the brightest, nicest, funniest and most talented actors I’ve ever worked with” said Sylvester Stallone. Crenna is survived by his wife of 46 years, Penni, daughters Seana and Maria, and a son, Richard Anthony.
